All telephone codes that have a place with North American Numbering Plan (NANP) are recorded in this site. NANP covers 25 areas code in Canada, the United States, portions of the Caribbean Sea and a few islands in Pacific and Atlantic seas. The NANP isolates the regions of its individuals into numbering plan regions (NPAs) which are encoded mathematically with a three-digit phone number prefix, ordinarily called the zone code.
All phone numbers to be registered in NANP have the use of format NPA-NXX-XXXX:
- NPA = Numbering plan area code
- NXX = Central office(exchange) code
- XXXX = Local number(subscriber number)
